The Pongal festival marks joy and brings along everything that’s best. The highlight of the Thai Pongal festival is the Poo Pongal (16.01.2022) celebrated in the village of Ettimadai where the 25th anniversary of Nilachoru, Salangai Attam, Valli Kummi and the musical band was also rejoiced. The people of the village celebrated together at the event and extended their warm wishes amongst each other.

NILA SORU- RE-LIVING A CHILDHOOD MEMORY

Our forefathers held various ceremonies to pay respect to the moon on the full moon night in the month of Thaii (January) and to create a society free of inequality. For the last three years, our Jaihind Foundation has been conducting village-wide Nila Soru program where children and people come along with their favourite food items and share it within them. This year the event was held in 56 villages.
